Then a few hours later the text again that they were boarding the plane in Chicago and it would be a long flight through the night.

I think I was awake most of the time she was in the air praying that God’s hand would be on her and Chuck as they flew. Then came the time that I looked at the phone and it said they had landed safely. Talk about breathing easier. BUT I didn’t receive a call or text and THAT’s hard to take.

A couple of days went by and we didn’t hear anything. They were there for 10 days and I knew that would be a forever for me and a short time for her. I finally contacted WMA and asked if they had heard from them. They had and due to China blocking the phones it was really hard to get much back and forth.

Tuesday morning I received a call and Abigail said she couldn’t talk long but everything was going good. Then suddenly she was gone. I tried to call her cell back but it didn’t go through. Her sweet roommate allowed her to use her phone to talk a couple of minutes. That was what I needed to be able to know she was safe and God was taking care of her.

Thursday (their Friday) Chuck gave her his cell phone and she called us and talked longer this time. She was so excited and I barely got a word in. I left the room where I had been talking with her and told Michael, “she will be going again, she is just bubbling”.

You say 10 days isn’t very long. It is for this mother that hasn’t been separated from her daughter except when we had to be at the hospital with Milton and then we called and talked to her. Milton and I did a count down of when she was coming back home. We knew when she got her her life would be totally different.

Again, we watched the plane take off from China and head back across the ocean.
