We are starting our 6th week on our journey. Easy…hard…what would you call it, we call it a journey.
One thing on this journey is you will find out you loose and then gain and keep going back and forth each day depending on what we have eaten, drunk, or just the ups and downs. But when the scale starts staying under a certain number excitement builds.
We have had some of the same meals we’ve eaten before but we have also added to them, too.
One of our new favorite new meals is Green and Red Pepper Pizza’s. These are awesome! Our favorite are the red ones. We will be having these again!!
Another
new favorite is Apple Pie. We will be making a few changes to it next time, but it was a good change!
This morning for breakfast we had Quiche loaded with veggies.
Then for lunch the whole family at the same thing and loved it!!! I think we are starting to win some of them over to our new eating. We had turkey, mashed potatoes (cauliflower), gravy. and green beans. Milton took seconds on everything.
This evening will be stir fry and apple muffins.
Some of you think this is impossible to do. I was scared at first because I was raised with my mother cooking the best meals and we all were healthy. But when you are faced with reality in the face, you can do almost anything.
We have found shopping around at different places help save some money. We continue to shop at our local grocery store. Then we also shop at Shelters for our fresh fruit and veggies. We shop at JB’s Health Mart for some of our items we have to have for the program.
